11 August 2020

Dear HR,

I would like to apply for the position of Office Supervisor as recently advertised. I am very interested in the ‘management’ part of the job, hence I thought this was the ideal opportunity to look for a role in a larger organisation which would give me more back-up so that I can delegate some of the admin work.

In my previous role, it was my job to look after all offices processes and ensure that admin tasks such as payroll, time sheets from the contractors, and office equipment supplies etc were processed efficiently and on time.

I have recently re-located to be nearer to my family for personal reasons; I was previously employed in a medium sized construction company for 2.5 years where I was in control of office budgets, arranging travel, meetings and appointments for the managing director, ordering stationery, office equipment and furniture.

There were also two part-time clerical staff and it was my job to schedule and supervise their work, organising office maintenance and repairs, reviewing and updating the company’s health and safety policy and arranging checks, and organising induction programmes for new joiners.

My role meant that I had to work with just about everyone in the business and had to balance a lot of different needs and tasks; I am reliable, good with people, a capable project manager and have great organisational skills.

I have undertaken courses in Health and Safety, Project Management, Supervision and some IT courses (Microsoft, Excel and Powerpoint).

I am now ready to take on a management role in finance or personnel management, as well as maintaining responsibility for the existing office manager duties and would welcome the opportunity to discuss this role further with you.

I am available for interview at your convenience and references are available on request. I enclose my CV and look forward to hearing from you as appropriate.

Yours faithfully

05 June 2020

Dear HR,

I would like to apply for the position of Trainee Mortgage Advisor as recently advertised.

I work for a busy firm of Estate Agents, which is part of a national chain. I originally started here as a Saturday assistant, when I was at school and then joined the company full-time, after I graduated from school.

My current role is working as general admin support to the services department; technically we are located separately from the Estate Agency, so as to ensure independence. In my role, I field initial enquiries, arrange appointments to view properties and process applications for mortgages and insurance cover.

I provide administration support to my manager who helps people find and apply for the mortgage they think is right for them based on their personal finances and situation and keeps them fully informed as to the different kinds of mortgages available and guides them through the process.

I liaise with the agency’s valuers and mortgage lenders and it is vitally important that I keep up to date with the current market and mortgage and lending Law (Financial Services Authority compliance) and all the products, as we offer a range of products from a variety of lenders, as well as offering our own products.

Our team is also required to hit certain sales targets and, as part of the team, I help ensure that we manage our quotas successfully. This can be quite challenging in today’s current economic climate because, as you are aware, the housing market has been quite badly hit these last few years. Fortunately, the firm I work for has an excellent, well-established reputation and very strong marketing skills and so we have been quite busy throughout this period.

I am currently applying to do a distance learning course for the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Certificate in Mortgage Advice (Cert MA) exams and would like to progress my career where there is an opening for a trainee mortgage advisor as there is no opportunity to progress further in the firm I am currently working for.

I am available for interview at your convenience and enclose my CV. References are available on request.

Yours faithfully

Dear HR,

I should like to apply for the role of CAD Technician as advertised recently.

I have been working freelance for nearly a year now as a CAD technician and would like to consolidate into a permanent position where I can work with other members of the team to deliver a range of focused projects on behalf of the organisation.

I use a range of software to create design plans for buildings and machinery and have worked across a variety of projects, where I deal mainly with 3D solid modelling techniques, although a number of other projects I have worked on focused around 2D surface modelling techniques, the longest assignment being 6 months in total.

For this particular project I had to draw a flat representation of a new car design for the client to comment on, and amend and approve, prior to the engineers building and testing the new prototype.

I have also helped to prepare cost estimates on projects, and produce assembly instructions and maintenance manuals for installation, service and repair technicians.

I have a sound knowledge of engineering design principles, good numeracy and computer skills, good communication skills, knowledge of material properties, an understanding of manufacturing processes and creative flair; I am flexible and adaptable; I am able to meet deadlines and enjoy working as part of a team.

I have a City & Guilds Certificate in 2D Computer Aided Design (4353) Level 2, and Level 3, which allowed me to specialise in 2D or 3D design. The particular college I attended used AudoCAD and also ran some  more specialised software packages, including AutoCAD LT, SolidWorks and 3ds Max.

I enclose my CV and am available for interview at your convenience. References are available on request and I very much look forward to hearing from you as appropriate.

20 May 2020

Dear HR,

I would like to apply for the role of Maintenance Engineer as advertised recently.

I work in engineering maintenance as part of a team of engineering technicians, where I am responsible for making sure all plant machinery and equipment runs smoothly. I carry out both preventative checks, as well as emergency maintenance and running repairs for a building construction company and, as such, most of my work takes place out on site or, if not, I have to schedule and arrange the transportation of abnormal loads to transport broken down heavy earth moving equipment back to the maintenance centre.

Part of my duties involve preparing, carrying out and over-seeing the maintenance schedule, allocating work to our team of fitters, checking and calibrating instruments to make sure they are accurate, fitting new parts, carrying out quality inspections, responding immediately to equipment breakdowns, fixing faults on site or arranging for replacement machinery or equipment to be installed, keeping production managers informed of progress and organising teams or individuals to make sure that 24-hour cover is available.

Most of our systems are computerised, although we do also use a range of hydraulic and pneumatic machinery for the heavy lifting.

I joined the company as an apprentice and have a City and Guilds Certificate in Engineering (2800). I have just registered with the Engineering Council to help me continue to develop my professional qualifications.

As part of my career progression I am very keen to join your company because of its outstanding reputation for producing world-class engineering projects and am willing to relocate to the West Midlands where the post will be based as I would very much like to work in a maintenance team management role.

I enclose my CV and am available for interview at your convenience. References are available on request and I very much look forward to hearing from you as appropriate.

I have seen an advert for Sales Assistant at your Trafford Centre store on the job seekers website, Learnist.org, and enclose my completed application form for your consideration.

The job market is a huge and highly competitive world where each applicant is trying to outstrip each other just to get the position. The presentation of facts must be aligned to the position or the job you are searching for because you have the right skills and abilities. There are several techniques or tools that you can explore to make yourself called upon for an interview by your prospective employer. A cover letter for help is one sales tool that you can use to sell yourself. It is actually a sales letter, not for the product but for you and you can make it work in many ways. Start learning the ways on how to get the job.

Resumes are designed to give the details of all your qualities, skills, educational background while cover letters for help have the power to make your resume read by the manager. If you are searching for a job, then come across the company’s advertisement and happen to be at the company’s premises –start by going directly to the help desk. argos job application cover letter sample

Motivating the potential employer who will read a cover letter remains a big challenge for job applicants. Great cover letters are made by skilled people who know the characteristics of a business letter. There are certainly a lot of resources and tools that will help you go about writing a good letter but to personalise it is another story. Cover letters are as varied as the purposes of the writer. Depending on what your intention is,you can choose which one suits you best. Great cover letters should include what you need, what you can do and how you can be effective before anything else. Don’t ever submit a haphazard letter because you will not have the chance to be called for an interview.

Cover letters should be interesting and should be able to catch the attention of the reader. This entails the applicant to have writing potentials or skills. To create great cover letters, you have to be aware of the format and supply the right information. The reader’s interest depends on how creative and interesting your cover letter is. So,it would be helpful if you could organise your thoughts well and write them cohesively. A little background check of the company,or if possible of the point person or addressee of the letter would definitely boost your writing for great cover letters. If you are applying for a job in a certain company, know the requirements by heart and check your own qualifications specific to the requirements.

The information you find in the cover letter is quite standard but the style of writing makes a big difference. While there are many samples and templates of great cover letters, your letter must be able to reveal your personality,as closely relevant to the job requirements as possible. Make sure you have the right skills and aptitude, which your resume can actually vouch for. Brief but accurate, simple but informative, catchy but not superfluous, are some characteristics that you can inject in your cover letter. Don’t forget to check the format, spelling, especially the name of the addressee, and grammar. These are the basic elements of good cover letters.

I would love to have the opportunity to discuss the possibility of a future career with your organisation and look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

wilkinsons cover letter example

Sales cover letters should be specific to the sales job as required by the specific company. This industry is highly competitive and therefore, you should be able to capture the attention of your future employer. Think of your cover letter as your sales letter to a client. Simply put,you need to be successful in selling yourself to the employer. Hence, this requires a powerful resume and sales cover letters that will convince your reader that you have the power to sell any product to anybody, anytime. Make it a point to be as interesting as possible because of the nature of the job. A good product and company knowledge will give you an advantage. This will show your interest in the job.

The opening sentence of sales cover letters should be able to capture the attention of the reader because this leads to the succeeding statements that you make about yourself, abilities, qualities, strengths, experience, things that you have that the employer can use to his/her advantage. If you are creative and innovative, that will be shown in the letter you have composed and written. Your sales cover letters will reflect your personality and your capability in selling. Remember that selling requires energy and must be able to stir interest in the things you sell. Customise your letter to the needs of the company, rather than thinking of the economic benefits. Most employers would want to see how much you could contribute to them.

The substance of sales cover letters is in packaging yourself. Highlight the most interesting qualities and strengths that you have. Make your reader feel and see your best intentions for the company through your abilities, character and personality. Convincing the reader to contact you is another milestone for applicants to consider. This is usually in the closing paragraph of sales cover letters. Or better inform the potential employer of your intention to follow him/her up regarding your application and for you to be interviewed. Make sure your letter has an impact.
