24 July 2020

Dear HR

I would like to apply for the role of IT Technician as advertised recently.

I have been working for myself as a freelance IT contractor and am now seeking a permanent position as I really relish working on cloud computing projects where there is a mixture of network and storage and data requirements to consider; I enjoy the complexity of advising on procurement and maintenance, however, the complex nature of the IT market means that I believe I will be able to keep abreast of technological developments far better if I have access to larger scale projects, technology consultants and ongoing training courses.

I have been working on a number of SaaS (software as a service) projects, including being responsible for advising on email security, archiving and continuity, remote logins and IT support for employees on the move. Most of the systems I have worked with have been SAP or Oracle and I also have experience of Barracuda and Mimecast, web and email security products.

I believe this makes me suitable for your role where you are seeking someone who can go out on site to remote locations, to help advise, implement and monitor various end-user computing projects.

I have a degree in computing science and have been working for myself since I left college last year.

I enclose my CV and am available for interview at your convenience. References are available on request and I very much look forward to hearing from you as appropriate.

Yours faithfully

Tom Carter
