Dear Sirs
I should like to apply for the role of Wirer/Wireman as advertised recently.
I am currently working as a contractor, installing, repairing and replacing wiring and electrical systems in houses and factories. My responsibilities include ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with relevant codes.
On a day-by-day basis I prepare the grounding system and connect wiring to the structure, install wiring, security and fire-protection systems, and lighting fixtures and troubleshoot the electrical systems when the need arises.
My job involves interpreting drawings and specifications, reading meters to check current values, testing systems and circuits using a a variety of devices (such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes) to ensure the safety and compatibility of the systems.
My contract is now coming to a close and I am now seeking another position as a wireman. I very much hope you will consider me for this role as I am keen to remain working in a similar environment.
