Work History

January 2010 – Present

Operations Manager, Highways and Byways, London

Working in this large public sector environment it was my duty to ensure that all departments were working together to ensure that the task in hand was completed smoothly and to the least possible time and financial cost. I would have to liaise with many departments to ensure they everyone knew when to carry out their role in the task. It was usually construction based, so would involve pulling together of the planning departments, health and safety departments and the building departments.

January 2008- January 2010

Operations Manager, Funky Festivals, London

In this fresh and exciting company I had the role of Operations Manager, which meant I was in charge of overseeing the project from start to finish. I would have to liaise with the sourcing department who would find a suitable site for the festival to take place, and then liaise with the departments in charge of health and safety, security, hospitality and entertainments. It entailed a lot of phone calls and paperwork which gave me a very good experience of documentation management.

January 2007 – January 2008

Trainee Operations Manager, Big Airport, London

I trained to be an operations manager at this large airport. Working under the operations manager I learned all aspects of running the dynamic background of an airport. I would have to liaise with the flight controllers and ground crew to ensure that everything was running smoothly and for example, a crew were dispatched to clean a plane, a crew sent to empty the hold, and stewards sent to assist passengers embark and disembark.
