social worker cover letter example

A social worker will need to have 5 GCSE’s and either two A-levels or a BTEC National Diploma in health and social care level 3 and so you will need to make sure that you mention that you have these qualifications or equivalent ones on your cover letter.

If you have any work experience in the social work field you will also need to state this. However, there are skills that you need for the job, which you need to show that you have. You will need to be a good listener and if you have done a previous job that needed this or you feel you are a good listener to your friends, then say so. You need to have initiative and so try to think of some examples in life where you show initiative.

You will need to be very observant, resilient, practical and flexible and so make sure that as well as demonstrating that you are a caring person you can show that you have those qualities as well. Use examples from school and life as well as work experience or volunteer work to show that you have the necessary skills for the social work job.
